Why I read it:

I really liked The Confessions Of A Shopoholic by the author and this book is supposedly better than most of her work.

Summary:

Emma is like every girl in the world. She has a few little secrets.

Secrets from her mother:
1. I lost my virginity in the spare bedroom to Danny Nussbaum while Mum and Dad were downstairs watching Ben Hur.

…From her boyfriend:
2. I’m a size twelve. Not a size eight, like Connor thinks.
3. I’ve always thought Connor looks a bit like Ken. As in Barbie and Ken.

4. When Artemis really annoys me, I feed her plant orange juice. (Which is pretty much every day)
5. It was me who jammed the copier that time. In fact, all the times.

Review:

This book was a perfect example of what one can expect from Sophie Kinsella. I liked the Confessions movie/book and decided to give this book a go. Funny and fast paced, this book did not have a single boring page. Some parts of it were without a doubt a bit dumb and somewhat far fetched but it didn’t really bother me at all, like it normally would. Her sense of humor is what kept me going throughout the book. I really enjoyed both the characters and totally related to the fact that we all keep secrets we think will hurt people if revealed and thus face difficulties managing those lies.
I recommend this book to Sophie Kinsella fans, Legally Blonde fans, and to some extent David Levithan fans.
Some people really hated it and some really enjoyed it, so it depends on person to person I guess.
